Hot-Dip Galvanising Services
Hot-dip galvanising in accordance with EN-ISO 1461 provides our steel gratings and stair treads with durable protection against corrosion. The products are submerged in a zinc bath containing molten zinc at a temperature of 450ºC. The zinc bonds with the steel and forms an unbreakable layer.
Powder Coating Services
After hot-dip galvanising, our steel gratings and stair treads can also be powder coated. Powder coating is an electrostatic process in which a spray gun is used to apply powder to metal before placing the powder-coated object in an oven. The powder melts to form an even coat and, after hardening, the result is a stylish, protective and, above all, robust coating.
Anodising Services
The products are submerged in a bath containing diluted suphuric acid in which a electro-chemical process takes place after which an oxidation layer is formed. The aluminium surface of the gratings is converted into a layer of aluminium oxide with a thickness of 5 to 25 microns (one micron is one thousandth of a millimetre). As opposed to other surface treatments, anodising does not apply a layer to the aluminium, but instead a layer is created within the aluminium itself. An advantage of anodisation is that it retains the beautiful metal-look of our aluminium gratings.
