Process Information: In Pulp & Paper plants there are various applications for chevron vane, BlueFil® structured Mesh Demister or Knitted Wire Demister droplet separators to prevent liquid carry over from an evaporator or scrubber tower, or to recover chemicals used in the pulping process – e.g. ...

Due to the high viscosity liquid produced with over sulphonisation, it is recommended (a) to have a stand-by filter unit in parallel, or (b) to have an irrigated demister unit in front of the fibre filters; in any case a Δp metered wash spray system is normal on the candle filters, and the vessel may be trace heated and ...

PROCESS INFORMATION: The Vacuum Unit is fed with Crude Bottoms and is injected with steam. Passing upwards through wash oil stages, the gas exits to an overhead condenser, where cleaned gas goes to LT Ends, and Naphtha and Light Cycle Oil are produced as liquids. From side streams the Vacuum Unit sends HVGO to the FCC Fractionator and LVGO to the Hydrocracker or for ...

PROCESS INFORMATION: The Fractionator is fed from the reactor and side strippers are injected with steam. Naphtha and Light Cycle Oil are produced. In a Pipestill, fed from a crude furnace, the side strippers produce Jet A, Gas Oil and Diesel or Heavy Gas ...

Phosphor Bronze Processing – Phosphoric Acid / P2O5 Filtration Systems. Process Information: Phosphorous is injected into a bath of molten copper, to produce Phosphor Copper metal. There is then a fume produced from the reaction in the bath, which is extracted by a fan to a filter system, before the cleaned air is then emitted to atmosphere. P2O5 mists are entrained with the fume, and frequently carbon solids are entrained also. (The origin & nature of the Phosphorous is a major factor in the quantity of ...

Air or SO2 is dried with H2SO4 before being fed to the sulphur burner or converter. The Drying Tower can be under pressure or under suction, with the main gas blower being, respectively, in front of or after the tower. The physical limit of drying is 3 mg/SCF of gas as H2O (= 16 mg/SCF as H2SO4) Large particles (>3 microns) are mechanically entrained from the acid distribution system or packing, typically as a load of 500 – 750 mg/m3. As the Drying Tower operates at relatively low temperature, mist is ...

Process Information: Candle Filters can be used in the dry process (electric furnace) described below; the phosphate rock is sintered or nodulized to facilitate escape of phosphorus vapours in the furnace and to prevent the blowing over of dust. After sintering, the material is sized and the fines returned to the sintering machine. Coke and sand are added and the materials charged to the electric furnace. The temperature of the furnace is approximately 2400 ...

PROCESS INFORMATION: The Amine gas treating, also known as gas sweetening, refers to a process that uses aqueous solutions of various alkylamines (commonly known as amines) to remove hydrogen sulphide (H2S) and carbon dioxide (CO2) from gases. Aqueous solutions of MEA (monoethanolamine) are used as a gas stream scrubbing liquid in amine treaters to remove H2S from sour natural gas. The MEA reacts with acidic compounds dissolved in the solution, using a large surface area to contact with the cold scrubbing solution ...

Process Information: Case A Conventional H2SO4 Process: In a sulphur burning or metallurgical double absorption H2SO4 plant where no Oleum is produced upstream, SO3 gas exits the third catalyst pass, is cooled down and enters the first ( = intermediate ) absorption tower, where H2SO4 is distributed over ceramic packing to absorb the SO3. When the gas exits the I.A.T. it returns to the converter to go into the fourth catalyst pass after being reheated in a gas/gas heat exchanger. Due to the high inlet gas ...

PROCESS INFORMATION: The Naptha Hydrotreater prepares feedstock for downstream reforming or isomerization. The naphtha feed is mixed with hydrogen rich recycle gas. The mixed feed is then heated and then fed to the reactor, which contains a cobalt-molybdenum or nickel-molybdenum catalyst to convert contaminants such as sulphur, nitrogen, oxygenates and halides to hydrogen sulphide, ammonia, water and hydrogen halides. These can then be removed from the hydrocarbon stream. ...

Process Information: Concentrated Urea solution comes from the Evaporator and is sprayed downwards from the top of the Prilling Tower. The inlet air draft rising inside the Prilling Tower cools the falling, sprayed solution, which then forms into solid ‘prills’. The prills then continue to fall, to the bottom of the tower for collection. At the top of the tower, around the sprayer heads, the Urea microprills (100 microns ) and average 1 micron diameter mist are entrained by the air going on up to the ...

Most common manufacturing applications are Synthetic Leather ( car upholstery, bags, shoes etc.), vinyl coated and linoleum flooring, vinyl coated wallpaper, laminated sheets ( special films, belts, tarpaulins ) and foam products. Polyvinyl-chloride (PVC) is a thermoplastic and is mixed to additives which improve its properties and enable it to be processed more ...

Process Information: Concentrated Ammonium Nitrate (NH4NO3) solution comes from the Evaporator and is sprayed downwards from the top of the Prilling Tower. The inlet air draft rising inside the Prilling Tower cools the falling, sprayed solution, which then forms into solid ‘prills’. The prills then continue to fall, to the bottom of the tower for collection. At the top of the tower, around the sprayer heads, the NH4NO3 decomposes into NH3 and HNO3 , which recombines quickly into NH4NO3 mist and is ...

Process information: Depending on the process technology and the source of the emission, the nature of the emissions (content quantity and type of contaminant) determines the best design of scrubber in each case. HF, H2FiS6 (FSA), P2O5 and NH3 are the main contaminants to be scrubbed in the exit ...
